The "A List Apart" website has created a survey both in 2007 and 2008 to explore various statistics about the web design and development industry. Though a little late today we found that the results of the 2008 survey had been posted to the website.

The interesting thing about this survey as well as the previous one is that it not only gives fellow web developers like myself insight into the inner workings of the industry but it can also be used by customers to get a glimpse at who the typical web designer is, how he/she thinks and what ranges the pay scale tends to run. The survey results are extremely detailed, It is great to see such effort being put into understanding the people and organisations involved in web design and development.
